The Story of Healthy Flavors

Nestled in the rolling hills south of Nashville, our farm incorporates 41,200 square feet of greenhouse space, 30,300 square feet of hoophouses and additional outdoor field production.  We grow basil, thyme, oregano, dill, chives, rosemary, sage, bay leaves and other specialty herbs year round.

In June 2012, Nadia and Dan Spatz purchased the farm, which was set up in 1986 as the first hydroponic greenhouse in Tennessee.  We renamed the business Healthy Flavors, Inc.  The name represents our vision to "spread the news" that good health is underpinned by healthy, tasty food.  See our page on Healthy Living.

We also set about modernizing and professionalizing the business, which required a lot of tender loving repair, maintenance and re-investment! Our first achievement was gaining SQF 2000 (Safe Quality Foods) certifications for the farm in September of 2012, and modernizing the packaging facility.

In 2019, Nadia’s leadership and management of the farm was recognized when we were certified by the Womens Enterprise National Council.

To this day, we continue to progress our knowledge of growing culinary herbs, focusing on producing quality crops of delicious and nutritious plants.

We love the feeling of watching healthy plants grow and cutting stems for shipment fresh to consumers.  Apart from transforming and growing our business, we enjoy spending time with our three children, Alina, Emily and Daniel.
